About Natalie Weinstein
Natalie Weinstein is a Long Island resident (Nesconset, NY) and an ASID-allied
interior design consultant in the residential, commercial and architectural
arenas, as well as an author, media personality, and interior design business
owner.
Founder and president of Natalie Weinstein Design Associates, Ms. Weinstein
offers 35 years of industry experience and leads a productive seven-member team
of design business professionals. In 2004, she launched the innovative, internet-based
Natalie Weinstein’s Home Decorating Club, which has grown to more than
15,000 members. In 2007, Ms. Weinstein led “Club” vendors in establishing
Green Design University, an education program to promote leadership of environment-friendly
design, thinking, practice and trends.
A recognized and sought-after media personality with a regular following, Ms.
Weinstein is the weekly host and producer of “The Home Show” on
Walk 1370, as well as presenter of WALK 97.5 FM radio’s “Weekly
Design Tips” and a guest expert on local cable television and at Suffolk
Community College where she mentors interior design interns. She also authors
a monthly feature article in HOUSE Magazine, a regular column in The Times Beacon
Record newspapers and St. James Our Town, and has been published in Newsday,
The New York Times, Palm Beach Life, Nite Life and Distinction Magazine.
A keynote speaker and trainer who presents on a variety of interrelated topics,
her most recent engagements include Sanford University (Birmingham, AL / July
9, 2007) in which she presented knowledge of how surroundings affect organizational
skills and self esteem with practical applications of math, spatial relations
and language for a conclave of primary school teachers. (This program addressed
curriculum use of Katrina’s New Room); and The Long Island Center for
Business and Professional Women (Woodbury, NY/ May 10, 2007), where she co-presented
a workshop entitled The Seven Secrets to Work/Life Balance. Ms. Weinstein will
be a speaker for the NAMC’s (National Association of Mothers Centers)
annual work/life balance conference, at which she will speak on Design Secrets
for an Energized Workplace: Refresh Creativity, Recharge Productivity, and Attract
and Retain High-Quality Employees and Business
A former teacher, Ms. Weinstein draws on insights gained as she earned a Bachelor
of Science degree from Queens College, as well as a degree from the Willsey
Institute for Art and Interior Design, where Natalie had also served as executive
director, for 30 years. Ms. Weinstein drew upon her experience in curriculum
development when writing two children’s books, one of which was recently
published – Katrina’s New Room, and the soon to be published sequel,
“Neil and the Secret System”.
Ms. Weinstein teaches with sensitivity and humor; children and adults alike
find Ms. Weinstein’s style engaging and her positive attitude contagious.
